Ardbeg Day at the Distillery

2017 FEIS ILE PROGRAMME

29th May – 3rd June

SKERRY STUFF!

Legends lie deep in our waters. Kelpies, the Scottish shape-shifting water spirits that inhabit the skerries around Ardbeg, are known to take the form of a horse or a bull and prey on unwitting travellers, never to be seen again.
The kelp seaweed forests that surround our shores are home to more than the creatures that weave between the tangled fronds.

Let’s see if you can catch a Kelpie on ARDBEG DAY

Day:                      Saturday 3rd June
Time:                    1000hrs – 1700hrs

NO BOOKINGS ARE NEEDED FOR ARDBEG DAY EVENTS - JUST COME OUT OF YOUR SHELL AND DIVE INTO THE DEEP...

We’ll have tours, tastings, games, music and food available all day, including:

DEEP ‘SEE’ TOURS
Catch an in-depth look at the Distillery.  Get a deeper insight into the way that Ardbeg produces its wonderful spirit.  Allow one of our bubbly tour guides to navigate you through the process and learn about its mysteries of the deep.
Just head to the waiting area and we’ll gather in the net and take tours when needed.

IN DEPTH TASTINGS
Submerse yourself in one of our special and secret tastings – will you be one of the lucky few?

DIVE INTO ONE OF OUR GAMES
Can you Pin the Tail on the Mermaid or Catch a Kelpie?
How Deep is Your Love? (for Ardbeg )
Where is Mickey Head’s Locker?

ARBROATH DEEP SEA SMOKIES
Let Iain Spink, the man behind the smoke and a real firm favourite at Ardbeg Day, tempt you to taste some interesting and mysterious fish. In 2017 he will net a few odd amphibians for you to savour. In time honoured tradition you will queue, but when you taste those smoky beauties…it’s worth the wait!  How do you smoke a Kelpie?

PLUS Enjoy magical music from Callanish, shapeshifting stories with Jess Smith, our seaweed foot spa and peaty facials in our bountiful beauty tent and oceans more!
